I'm oddly not stressed out, even though I have a religion essay due on Friday that requires research that I haven't done yet. That and I'm doing a religion that I have no clue about (Shinto). Isn't procrastination fun?
Even though I'm very excited about going to Japan, I'm a little scared too. The Tokai program is not a microcosm of Wake Forest like a lot of the study abroad programs are. After the orientation in Hawaii (whoo-hoo!), we spend some time with our first host family in Sonobe. I heard no one speaks English there. Yeah, I may be in my second year of Japanese, but that doesn't mean I know what the hell I'm talking about. I'll probably end up cold and starving on some desolate Tokyo street, unable to communicate well enough to send word to my family. And Kevin, in his infinite wisdom (you know I love you, dear) told me I should make Godzilla jokes while I'm there. I think the last thing the Japanese need is me making Godzilla jokes while I'm butchering their language. Knowing me, I probably say the wrong thing, bring dishonor to my family because of that and then have to commit ritual suicide just to clear my family name. Travelling in foreign countries sure is fun.
My roommate just gave me a Dr. Pepper and some candy. Nice...
I think I'll play some FF8 now. I still haven't beaten it and 9 is out all ready. Bad Jamelle.
